Smith, Don T., age 95, died July 19, 2006 following a long battle with cancer. He was born on February 1, 1911 to Ralph and Sena Grace Smith in Wichita. Don worked at the First National Bank of Wichita (now Intrust) for 47 years and retired as Vice President. At the time of his death, Don was residing in Olathe, Kansas near the homes of two of his three daughters. Don was preceded in death by his beloved wife of fifty two years, Helen Morton Smith, parents, three brothers and four sisters. Survivors include three daughters, Donna M. Rehm of Lenexa, KS, Mary K. Pearson of Littleton, CO and Sharon S. Colbert of Lenexa, KS; eight grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. Don, above all, had an abiding Christian faith and was dedicated to his family and church. He loved spending time with his family and enjoyed many sports, hunting, fishing, travel and working in his yard. He was also an avid golfer and bowler. Don won a high school wrestling championship during his school years and during his eighties he still playfull y wrestled with his grandchildren. He was a Charter Member of Beth-Eden Baptist Church. Don was a deacon, on the board of trustees of the church and served as Treasurer. For a number of years, Don faithfully mowed the church lawn on a regular basis. Visitation with the family present will be 4 to 6 p.m. Friday, July 21at the Cochran Mortuary. Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at the Beth-Eden Baptist Church.
