Parish, a native of the Clem community of Jefferson Davis County, had lived in Jackson, where he worked as a pump mechanic for an oil and gas distributor He was a veteran of World War II and a member of Faith Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Frances Cliburn Parish; daughter, Mrs. Pete (Kay) Harrell, of Clinton; brother, L.J. Parish of Prentiss; sisters, Mrs. Moody (Lillie) Polk of Prentiss, Mrs. Guy (Lucille) Berry of Mendenhall, Mrs. T. Weber (Anna Laura) Shivers of Newhebron and Mrs. Norfleet Yates and Mrs. Ed (Jo) Polk, both of Jackson; and two grandchildren.
