Census 1850 - Newby Bogue 47, family is residing in Dublin, Wayne county, Indiana with wife Hannah 42, and 5 children; Eluny[sic] Bogue 22, Amos Bogue 20, Nancy Bogue 18, Benjamin Bogue 16 and Elizabeth Bogue 14.

Census 1860 finds Benjamin no longer at home. His parents, Newby (57) and Hannah (52) Bogue are now residing in Prairie, Henry county, Indiana with oldest daughter (spelled Elvira on this census) and her husband Arthur Sanders and their 3 daughters.

Benjamin is now 26 and married, residing in Henry, Henry county, Indiana with his wife Rhodah 24, and 2 daughters, Arabel 4 and Emilline 8 mos.

Census 1870 Benjamin Bogue 36, wife Rhoda Bogue 35, and now more children are in the home; Ova Bell/Arabel 14, Emma 10, John 7, Neuly 5 and Robert 2. Still residing in Henry county, Indiana.

The 9th Indiana Volunteer Infantry Regiment was a volunteer infantry regiment in the Union Army during the American Civil War. It was organized on April 22, 1861, for three-months' service in Indianapolis. After being reorganized for three years' service in late August and early September 1861, the 9th took part in many major battles, including Shiloh, Stones River, Chickamauga, Lookout Mountain, Missionary Ridge, Kennesaw Mountain and the Siege of Atlanta. The 9th was mustered out on September 28, 1865, after duty at San Antonio and New Braunfels, Texas.

The funeral services of Rev. Benjamin Bogue were held yesterday afternoon, conducted by Revs. Wardin and Entwisle, of the M.E. Church. Pall bearers were selected from members of Stanton Post G.A.R. and the remains were interred in the G.A.R. lot at Park Cemetery.

Mr. Benjamin Bogue at hs late residence on East Sixth street, in the 59th year of his age. He was an old Union soldier, a member of the 9th Indiana, and has been a Methodist minister many years of his life. He leaves a wife and five children here and has four children by a former wife residing out of this state. The funeral services will be held at the residence tomorrow at 3 p.m.
