The son of Vernon O. and Dorothy Merritt Odle, James LaVern Odle was born February 1, 1938, at Alta Vista, KS. He graduated from Cedar Point High School in 1956. He served in the United States Army and was trained as a sharpshooter. He worked for Dean Leffler as a Mechanic Contractor (plumber) in Wichita for many years. He worked for Chase County Road and Bridge as a maintainer/road grader operator for years and recently raised cattle.
He is survived by his mother, Dorothy; a brother, Larry Odle of Howard, KS.; and a sister, Twila Northern of Mesquite, NV. He was preceded in death by his father, Vernon, and a sister, Valeta Allison.
There will be no formal family visitation. Friends may call at the funeral home Wednesday, noon until 5:00 P.M., Thursday, 9:00 A.M. until 6:00 P.M., and Friday, 9:00 A.M. until service time.
