Norene McGarvey
LAS VEGAS, Nevada — Norene McGarvey, 79 of Las Vegas, NV, and formerly of North Baltimore, OH, passed away very peacefully on November 24, 2007 at 2 a.m. with her loving husband, Charles of almost 60 years at her bedside. She was born to the late Fred and Mabel (Priebe) Culver on October 3, 1928 as their only child.
She graduated from North Baltimore High School and married Charles A. McGarvey Jr. on June 22, 1948 and he survives in Nevada.
Also preceding her in death is her infant son, Michael James, which whom she is now reunited.
As a young woman Norene worked for Garwood of Findlay, after marriage, she worked for Peterson Bakery of Bowling Green, OH and retired from Bendix Auto of Fostoria.
She attended Good Shepherd UM Church of North Baltimore and later the United Methodist Church of Van Buren. She was a member of the North Baltimore American Legion for many years.
She is survived by 3 daughters, Kay Lynne of Las Vegas, Nancy (Andrew) Agnew (formerly Benson) of Findlay and Krista McGarvey (formerly Swaim) of Oro Valley, AZ.; 5 grandchildren, Joshua, Jared, and Jordan Benson all of Findlay, and Aubrey and Hunter Swaim of Oro Valley, AZ.
Norene was a vibrant mother and devoted, "hands-on" grandmother. Her family was everything to her and she was the heart of the household. She loved life and the lights of Las Vegas.
She will be sadly missed but with a declining health of over 2 yrs., today she walks with the Lord. Death has been swallowed up in victory, Where, O death is your victory? Where, O death is your sting" 1 Cor 15:55.
Norene was cremated and her ashes will remain with her husband until his return to Ohio.
Won't you come and celebrate her life at a memorial service this coming Sunday, December 2, 2007 at 6 p.m. at the Stonebridge Church of God, 2111 Stone Hedge Dr., Findlay, OH. A very special thanks to Dr. Julian Miquel of the University UM Church of Las Vegas, who was there to pray for Norene and the family in her last hours.

Norene will be interred in New Maplewood Cemetery in North Baltimore alongside her parents and son Michael James.
