Agnes Elizabeth Babich, 86, of North Huntingdon, died Sunday, Feb. 8, 2009, in Excela Health Hospice Center, Jeannette. She was born Aug. 16, 1922, in Grant Town, W.Va., a daughter of the late Andrew and Veronica Kendrella Rafus. Agnes was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was a member and volunteered at St. Stephen's Byzantine Catholic Church, and also gave her time to various conservative causes. She had a great interest in health and nutrition as she maintained a small, nutritional supplement home business. Agnes loved people, learning and enjoying her life with others. She held a deep devotion to the Mother of Jesus and considered it her mission to share that devotion. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Steve Babich; a brother, Joseph Rafus; and four sisters, Mary McCrohen, Anna Stiner, Victoria Marsack and Josephine Humphrey. She is survived by three sons, Stephen G., of Sutersville, Andrew C., of Montana, and Joseph A., of North Huntingdon; three daughters, Mary Kurzawski and her husband, Dennis, of Carnegie, Veronica A. Guerra and her husband, Chris, of Gaithersburg, Md., and Rita M. McKeown and her husband, Wayne, of Level Green; three brothers, William, Franklin and Andrew Rafus, all of Morgantown, W.Va.; two sisters, Kathy Dwyer, of Michigan, and Frances Raven, of Virginia; and six grandchildren, Andrew, Thomas and Emily Kurzawski, Jacquelyn Babich Meegan, Sonya and Chris Guerra.
