A native of Buncombe Co., Mr. Miller was a son of the late Leslie Henry and Minnie Belle Hylton Miller. He was also preceded in death by his sisters, Anna Mae Thomas, Elva Louise Miller, and Sara Belle Davis; and brother, Benjamin Franklin Miller.
Mr. Miller worked for five years as chef of the Mayflower Restaurant, and worked an additional 38 years as a chef with Holiday Inn. He more recently worked as a custodian with Enka High School. He was a well-respected chef who was well known for his country style steak and gravy, beef tips, and pineapple ham glaze. He was also a 22-year veteran of the U.S. Army. He loved listening to southern gospel music, growing flowers, and taking care of his dogs.
Mr. Miller is survived by the love of his life, his wife of 41 years, Wilma Ruth "Tootsie" Austin Miller; brother, Oliver "Buster" Miller, of Candler; and a number of nieces and nephews.
