MARY CATHERINE HUGHES KELLY

Mrs. Kelly was born in Clinton, Missouri the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. G. W. Hughes. She died at home in Sherman, Texas after a long illness.

On 25 February 19, 1883 she wed Collin A. Kelly in Van Alstyne, Texas and they moved to Sherman in 1891. Collin preceded her in death after being married for 47 years.

A civic club leader, she had been a life-long member of the Presbyterian Church and was the oldest member of the First Church in Sherman of which she was the former president of the Woman's Auxiliary.

Surviving are a son R. Lee Kelly of Sherman; brother, Tobe Hughes of Bokchito, Oklahoma; grandson, Jack Kelly of Tenafly, New Jersey; a great-grandson, Robert Collin Kelly of Tenafly; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held at the residence, with Dr. D. C. McCall, pastor of First Presbyterian Church, officiating.

Pallbearers were Frank Trau, J.B. Knight, Ches Rollinson, C. Binkley, Brown Grizzard, Tom Bass, John Revel and George Jay. Honorary pallbearers were the officers of the First Presbyterian Church.
