John D. Gray, 80, retired field officer with the State of Louisiana, died Friday, April 15, 1966 at the Heritage Manor Nursing Home in Baton Rouge after a lengthy illness. He was a native of Union Parish and a member of Laurel Heights Baptist Church.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday in the chapel of Southern Funeral Home with burial in the Winnfield City Cemetery.

Survivors include two sisters, Mrs. T. W. Elkins of Baton Rouge and Mrs. T. E. Watson of Brady, Texas; one brother, M. M. Gray of Dubach; a large number of nieces and nephews.

Mr. Gray was the brother in law of Louis Sholars of this city.
