Bob (Buck) Chamberlin 1943 - 2010 Bob passed away suddenly at Bakersfield Memorial Hospital on Thursday, June 17th, at 4:00 p.m. Bob was born December 28, 1943 at the Kern General Hospital in Bakersfield. He went to East Bakersfield High, and joined the U.S. Army in February 1961 to August 1975. He served one tour of duty in Viet Nam in which he was awarded the Viet Nam Service Medal, The Viet Nam Campaign Medal w/DVC 60, The Viet Nam Cross of Gallantry w/Palm. He also received the Army Commendation Medal and the National Defense Service Medal. He served tours in Germany, Thailand, South Korea, and the United States. In the past 12 years he worked for Giumarra Vineyard in the Security Department. Bob is survived by his 91 year old mother, Barbara Chamberlin of Bakersfield; his brother, Bill Chamberlin and wife Gail, also of Bakersfield; and many cousins, nieces, nephew and extended family. Bob was preceded in death by his father, William Estes Chamberlin. Bob will have a Military Burial at the Bakersfield National Cemetery on Bear Mtn. Rd., (Hwy. 58 to Arvin 223 Exit), on Friday, June 25th, at 10:00 a.m. www.bakersfield.com/obits
