Bennie Jean Barber, 78, of Big Spring, died on Wednesday, July 1, 2009, at her residence. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Friday, July 3, 2009 at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel with Rev. Ray Davis, pastor of Grace Fellowship Church of God, officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Olive Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM Thursday at the funeral home.
She was born on February 10, 1931, in Callahan County, Texas and married Billy Gene Barber on August 24, 1947 in Stanton, Texas.
Bennie was a lifelong resident of Big Spring and was a homemaker. Her family was everything to her and she was a caring and loving wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed shopping and gardening.
She was a devoted member of Grace Fellowship Church of God.
Survivors include her husband, Billy Barber of Big Spring; two sons and daughters-in-law, Bobby and Cheryll Barber of Big Spring and Wayne and Brenda Barber of Midland; two daughters and sons-in-law, Louise and Ronnie Huitt and Sylvia and Hector Rodriguez all of Big Spring; one brother, Dean Holland of Big Spring; nine grandchildren, Terry Huitt and wife, Lori, Jerry Huitt, Teresa Caldwell, Preston Huitt and wife, Amy, Donnie Barber, Jill Moss, Sheryl Harbour, Rodrick Rodriguez and Eric Barber; twenty-one great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Lavert Holland; five sisters and one brother.
Pallbearers will be Terry Huitt, Jerry Huitt, Preston Huitt, Donnie Barber, Timothy Huitt, Casey Huitt and Stanley Pendelton.
