Frederick Wood served in the Confederate Army of Tennessee, as a private in Co.H, 54th Virginia Infantry Regiment. He received honor at the battle of Chickamauga, Georgia was captured by the 14th Michigan at Bentonville North Carolina on 19 March 1865, Sent to Point Lookout Prison for Confederates, in Saint Mary's County, Maryland. Frederick was released on 22 June 1865 after taking the Oath of Allegiance.
