John is shown in the 1880 census with the initial "B". In 1900 he is shown with no initial and with son Johnnie "A". In 1920 he is shown John L and next door to him is John Jr.
It appears that they became John L and John L, Jr just by picking the name Lonzoe for a middle name. I find no documentation for this middle name except John Jr.'s WWI Card from 1918.
Mother was first married to George Washington Canup about 1857. They had 3 children Mary Susan, John B and George Cicero Canup. Matilda married Isaac M Teague about 1866 and they moved to Bartow County, GA. Isaac took the children in and raised them as his own and John and George Cicero took on the name Teague in 1880. Mary Susan had already gotten married and moved out of the family home.
