Alice Collene Stone Warren

CARL JUNCTION, MO — Alice Collene Warren, age 73, of Carl Junction, passed away at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, June 22, 2010, at Spring River Christian Village.
Born March 8, 1937, in Pittsburg, Kan., she was the daughter of the late Reuben and Alice Wood Stone; she was raised and lived in the Carl Junction area until moving to Phoenix, Ariz., in the mid 1960s.
She graduated from Carl Junction High School and worked for Dr. L.E. Stiles in Carl Junction in the 1960s.
While in Phoenix, she worked 18 years for J.C. Penney. She returned to Carl Junction in 1997.
Collene married the love of her life, James F. Warren Sr. on June 25, 1956, at the Carl Junction Nazarene Church. He preceded her in death Feb. 10, 1998.
Survivors include four sons, James F. Warren Jr., of Webb City, Timothy W. Warren, of Joplin, Tracey D. Warren, of Austin, Texas, and William J. Warren, of Joplin; a daughter, Suzette Warren, of Joplin; two sisters, Ruby Dunn and husband, Bill, of Carl Junction, Charlene Purcell and husband, Raymond of Whitney, Texas; a brother, Carl Stone, of Rockingham, N.C.; nine grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and other family members who loved her dearly.
Collene's desire, (even as she pushed through the pain), was that everyone know Jesus' love. She was determined to give Him the glory and praise and wanted anyone she met to have the opportunity for forgiveness and eternal life through Jesus.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Carl Junction United Methodist Church with Rev. Bob Simon officiating.
Interment will follow in Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery with Mike and Ryan Moss, George Hosp, Carroll Sill, Keith Zorn and Mike Warren serving as pallbearers.
Arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary.
The family will be at the home of a sister, Ruby Dunn.
