Daniel Webster Besack

Daniel Webster Besack was born in the state of New York, April 10, 1851 and died at his home in North Platte Sept. 10, 1920, aged 69 years, 4 months and 24 days. When a baby his parents moved ton Indiana where they resided for a few years and then moved to Newton, Iowa, where Daniel spent his boyhood days. He was married Oct. 7, 1871 to Miss Rebecca Dunagan the same year he brought his bride to Nebraska, settling on a homestead in Flllmore County, near Grafton. Then they moved to Belvedere where he helped organize Thayer County. In 1883 they came to North Platte where they have lived for a third of a century. Mr.Besack early started in the livery business and only dropped out when his ago and falling health compelled him to retire. Besides his wife he leaves one son, D.W. Besack, Jr., who with his family lives in the same block, Three sons, Benjamin, Clifford and Wllliam preceeded their father. D.W.Bosack with his wife joined the Methodist Church under the pastorate of Rev.A.J.Clifton with whom he formed a lasting personal friendship. He was an official in the church and for years took a leading place in all of its activities. Until very recently he was a member of the church choir.
