Robert Spencer, 82, a resident of the Broen Home died Wednesday, Aug. 21, 1991, at the home.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Aastad Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Stanley Larsen officiating. Burial will be in Aastad Lutheran Cemetery.

He was born Aug. 24, 1908, in Lake Benton, the son of Edward and Karen (Dahl) Spencer. In 1920, the family moved to the Wendell area where he grew up and attended school. On Nov. 25, 1939, he married Florence Olson. The couple lived and farmed in Stonybrook Township for some time.

Over the years, Mr. Spencer worked at a variety of jobs, including well drilling for the Schmidt Brewery and working as a plasterer for Arnold Myron. Most recently he had been farming for Doug Dahlen until he moved to the Broen Home in 1988.

He was a member of Aastad Lutheran Church.

His survivors include four daughters, Sandy (Mrs. Michael) Rund of Dalton, Pat Kampsula of Ottertail, Sharon Spencer of Audubon and Pam (Mrs. Arlin) Olson of Wendell; three sisters, Vivian Erpelding of Richmond, Nina (Mrs. Herbert) Watry Albany and Lillian Pargman of Wendell; two brothers, Vernon of St. Francis and Arthur of Cambridge; 10 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at the Olson Funeral Home in Fergus Falls and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church.
