Mr. Daniel Sanford Bartram, Jr., 67, died Tuesday afternoon (June 22, 2010) at Satilla Regional Medical Center following a brief illness.
Dan was a native of Newtown CT, a long-time resident of Oxford, CT but had made his home in Waycross since 2005. He was the son of the late Daniel Sanford Bartram, Sr, and Agnes Collins Bartram. He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Patricia Bartram and siblings Joseph Wupperfeld and Lorraine Schlib.
He had been employed with Sikorsky Aircraft, Electrolux USA and later with Baskin-Robbins where he was employed for twenty years. He was a member of Bible Baptist Church but attended Jamestown Baptist Church and the Faithful Followers Sunday School Class. He was a life-long, avid fan of Drum & Bugle Corps and was a member of DCI (Drum Corps International).
Survivors include his wife, Nancy Hunt Bartram of Waycross; a daughter, Dawn Teixeira (husband Michael) of Naugatuck, CT; a son, Ralph Bartram (wife Sandra) of Folkston, GA; five grandchildren, Ryan, Jennifer, Bethany, Phillip and Amy Bartram; a brother-in-law, Tom Hunt (wife Linda) of Clarkesville, GA, nieces, nephews and other relatives.
A funeral will be held at 11:00 AM Friday (June 25, 2010) at Jamestown Baptist Church. Memorialization will be by cremation. Members of the Faithful Followers Sunday School Class are asked to gather at the church at 10:40 AM Friday to serve as honorary pallbearers. The family will be receiving friends from 6:00 until 8:00 Thursday evening at Music Funeral Home.
