Mrs. Gilbert (Clara) Bergerud

Clara Bergerud, 89, a resident of the Broen Memorial Home, died early Sunday, Aug. 23, at Lake Region Hospital.

Services will be Wednesday, Aug. 26, at 11 a.m. at Aastad Lutheran Church. The Rev. David Holte will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

One of ten children, she was born Sept. 25, 1891, in Aastad Township to Andrew and Bertha Soliah. Growing up in the Aastad community, she was baptized and confirmed at Aastad Lutheran Church. There she was married to Gilbert Bergerud on April 7, 1920, by the Rev. Skyberg. The couple farmed at Aastad until 1928, when they moved to Fergus Falls. Mr. Bergerud died in March 1969.

A sister, Mrs. Hilda Grinder of the Broen Home, and several nieces and nephews survive.

Visitation is this evening and all day Tuesday at Olson Funeral Home, continuing one hour prior to services Wednesday at the church.
