Born in Greenville, he was a son of the late Jasper Wallace and Leathea Cathcart Babb.
Mr. Babb worked for Milliken Company for 44 years. For the last 25 years, he served as manager of the designing department at Judson Mill.
He was a member of Berea First Baptist Church.
Mr. Babb was a member of the National Field Archery Association for many years.
Surviving, besides his wife of 61 years, Katherine Virginia Finley Babb, are a daughter, Katherine Virginia Babb Gray, and husband James D., of Greenville; brothers, Jasper Wylie Babb, of Taylors, and Albert Claude Babb, of Salem; sister, Gladys Louise Babb, of Cleveland; granddaughter, Katherine DeAnne Barbrey, of Taylors; grandson, Edward Harold Barbrey, and wife, Stephanie Hope, of Easley; and great-granddaughter, Christina Blair Barton, of Easley.
He was predeceased by sister, Addie Lee Babb and half sisters, Nellie Babb Spearman, Ethel Babb Hinsley and Inez Babb Hale.
Services were held Sunday at Graceland Cemetery, West.
