John Merritt Tilford ran the Tilford Bros Garage in Bayville for all of his adult life with several of his brothers. He and his family also started the first bus/taxi service in Bayville. He sold the Bus company to Hendrickson.
He was one of the original Trustee members of the Bayville Fire Dept, and a Bayville Trustee.
