Joseph Ward Bedford age 75 of Louisville passed away Friday, May 14, 2010. He was born in Beverly, W.Va. on July 25, 1934 to the late Joseph and Una Bedford. He later moved to Akron, Ohio with his parents and family. Joseph proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force. He and his ex-wife Laverna (Carol) had six children.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his son, Timothy Shepherd; daughter, Debra Miller; sister and brother-in-law, Evelyn and John Stewart; twin sister and brother-in-law, Josephine and Harry Bates; two brothers, Donald and James (Jimmy). Joseph is survived by his daughter, Kim (Dan) Frazier; sons, Steve Bedford and companion, Zane, Joseph Bedford and Randy (Kelly) Bedford; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; special niece and family, Cheryl Pritt and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends. The family would like to thank the staff at Oak Hill Manor Care Center, the transportation squads, the staff at Aultman Hospital and the staff at Louisville Family Practice Center. You gave us on extra year with 'Joe' with love Cheryl and family.

Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, May 19, 2010 at 7:00 p.m. in the Reed Funeral Home Canton Chapel. The family will receive friends in the funeral home on Wednesday from 5:00 p.m. until time of service. A graveside service with military honors will be conducted on Thursday, May 20 at 11:30 a.m. in the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, 10175 Rawiga Rd. Rittman, Ohio.
