Andrew C. Miller

SPRING GROVE - Andrew C. "Jack" Miller, 92, of Spring Grove RD 5, died at 8 p.m. Wednesday at his home, after a brief illness. He was the husband of the late Kathryn M. (Markel) Miller.
The service will be 2:30 p.m. Sunday at St. Jacob's (Stone) Church, Stone Church Road, Glenville. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Viewings will be 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the Geiple Funeral Home Inc., 53 Main St., Glen Rock and 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Sunday at the church.
Mr. Miller was born November 30, 1907, in Codorus Township. He was the son of the late William C. and Lizzie (Caslow) Miller.
He was a paper mill division superintendent at P.H. Glatfelter Paper Co. in Spring Grove, retiring in 1970 after 44 years of service. He was a member of P.H. Glatfelter's Quarter Century Club; and a member of United Church of Christ Congregation of St. Jacob's (Stone) Church, where he taught Sunday school, served as Sunday school superintendent, was a former choir member and served on the consistory.
Mr. Miller is survived by two daughters, Amelia C. Taylor of Elizabethtown and Roberta M. Kepner of Spring Grove RD 5; nine grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.
Mr. Miller was preceded in death by a daughter, Lucile M. Miller.
Officiating at the service will be his pastor, the Rev. George O. Butz.

Couple Married 50 Years Feted

SPRING GROVE - Mr. and Mrs. Andrew C. Miller, Spring Grove RD 5, were honored on their 50th wedding anniversary at a reception at Jefferson Memorial Hall.
Mr. and Mrs. Miller were married April 16, 1927, at Westminster, Md., by the late Rev. John N. Garner, who was pastor of St. Paul's Reformed Church.
Mrs. Miller is the former Kathryn Margaret Markel, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Robert Markel. Mr. Miller is the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. William Miller. He is a retired employee of P. H. Glatfelter Co.
The reception was hosted by the family, Mr. and Mrs. William Taylor, Mr. and Mrs. Lavere Miller and Mr. and Mrs. Randy Kepner.

They were married at St. Paul's Reformed Church in Westminster, Md., by the Rev. John Garner.
A dinner, given by their children, was held April 12 at the Yorktowne.
He is the son of the late William C. and Lizzie Miller. He is retired from P. H. Glatfelter Co.
She is the daughter of the late Robert and Lucy Markel.
They have three children: Amelia Taylor of Elizabethtown; Roberta Kepner of York; and Lucile Miller, now deceased.
They have nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
