"The Sabbath Recorder", Vol 29, No 9, p 35, Feb. 27, 1873.
In Westerly, R. I., Feb. 14th, 1873, Mrs. Anne Almy, wife of Daniel Babcock. She was born in Portsmouth, Nov. 3d, 1787, and was for nearly fifty-seven years the faithful and affectionate companion of her surviving partner, who is now in his 89th year. Her funeral was attended by a former pastor of the 1st Seventh-day Baptist Church of Hopkinton, of which she was for about thirty-six years a highly esteemed member. The brief sermon was the Bible answers to the following questions: "Where are our pious dead?" "What is their moral state?" "Who are their associates?" The deceased was spoken of as a model of sincerity and Christian serenity, as possessing a heart abounding on goodwill to all, and one whose life, much more than her professions, had exhibited many beautiful forms of charity to all. "The memory of the just is blessed." A. B. B.
