Son of Charles S. Hargrove and Caroline Lucentha Smith.
Married Sophronia Elizira Holland 3 May 1856, Limestone County AL. **Death Cert. shows date of death 11 Jan 1929, and burial as 12 Jan 1929, head stone lists death as 29 Feb 1929.

J.A. Hargrove
J. A. Hargrove, aged 92, died at the home of Jack Thornton, four miles north of Troy, Friday morning at 11:45 after a short illness. Mr Hargrove was born in GiIes county, Tennessee, in 1836 and was married at the age of 19 to Miss S.M.Hollan(d). To this union ten children were born, six boys and four girls, two of whom are deceased. Those surviving are L.A., T.C., and C. T . Hargrove and Mrs. S.F. Nobles, all of Troy, and Mrs. G.W. Hargrove of Fort Worth; J.J. Hargrove of Dallas; W.F.Hargrove and Mrs. Bob Hargrove of Tennessee. Mr. Hargrove was preceded to the grave by his wife who died in 1900. He came to Texas in 1906 and had lived in the Troy commuinity ever since.

Funeral services will be held at the home of L.L. Thornton Saturday at 2 o'clock, conducted by Rev. Ogles. Iterment will be in Roberts cemetery. (Troy, Texas)
