Besides his wife and mother, he is survived by two daughters, Mrs. John B. Hickman and Miss Elizabeth Brent; two sons, James L. Brent, Jr., and William B. Brent; four sisters, Mrs. Earl Armitage and Mrs. Harry C. Redd, both of Richmond, Mrs. Eric Duncan, of Nelson County, and Mrs. George C. Slaughter, of Lowesville; four brothers, William H. Brent, Gordon Brent and David T. Brent, all of Nelson County, and Donald Brent, of California, and a grandson, John B. Hickman, Jr.
Mr. Brent was a native of Tye River, and had been a resident of Norfolk for 37 years, residing at 3904 Newport Ave. Until his retirement in 1953, he ad been in the employ of the Norfolk City School Board for 28 years.
Funeral services will be conducted at the Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home at a time to be announced.
