Mr. Jackson served in the U.S. Army from 1942 until December, 1945. He served in Germany, France, England, Scotland, Belgium, Holland and Switzerland.
LaVerne was a life member of V.F.W. Judd-Kendall Post #3873, Naperville. He belonged to the Carpenter's Union Local 1889 since 1946 and was a member of St. John United Church of Christ, Naperville. He was a devoted, compassionate, thoughtful husband and father.
To cherish his memories, he leaves his beloved, faithful and devoted wife, Clara (nee Hageman) Jackson of Naperville; a precious and loving daughter, Eileen of Naperville; a sister, Arlene Schaal of Wilmington, IL; and nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. He will be deeply missed.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Una Jackson; also by a sister, Frances Burmaster; and two brothers, Edward and Raymond; brother-in-laws, Kirk Burmaster and Leslie Schaal.
Visitation will be held Monday, April 30, 3:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Friederich-Jones Funeral Home, 44 S. Mill St., Naperville, IL. Funeral Services will be Tuesday, May, 11:00 A.M. at St. John United Church of Christ, 1190 Olesen Lane, Naperville, IL with Rev. Robert McWilliams officiating. Interment will be at Naperville Cemetery, Naperville.
