She was bon Feb. 4, 1894, near Grimmett MO, the daughter of the late Dr. Thomas Benton Morgan and Mar Lane Morgan. She had spent her entire life in this area, receiving her education in the schools of Howell County, and for many years taught in the rural district here. On Aug. 3, 1912, she was married at West Plains to Thomas M. Collins, who preceded her in death March 4, 1966.
Mrs. Collins had been of the Baptist faith since early womanhood with her membership being in the First Baptist Church of West Plains for many years. She was instrumental in starting the Bethany Sunday school class of that church and taught the class for several years. For many years she served as secretary of the Howell County Baptist Association. She also served as Republican committee woman for Siloam Springs for a number of years.
Survivors include three children, Glen Collins and Mrs. Flossie Hoplins, West Plains, and Edward Collins, Collinsville IL; ten grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, and a brother, Leroy Morgan, West Plains. Preceding her in death are her parents, her husband, a son, Gale L. Collins, an infant son Paul, and four sisters. The family will be at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home this evening from 7 to 9 p.m. to receive friends. Interment will be beside her husband in Howell Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Robertson-Drago Funeral Home, West Plains.
