Mrs. Gibb's family association with the oldest city dates back to the mid 1800's, and she continued the family tradition of support of the community, touching almost every aspect of St. Augustine life from programs for school children to the beautification of the oldest city. Her long and varied community service included former president of the Women's Exchange, and she also oversaw the restoration, refurnishing and redecorating of Markland House, once the home of her father, Dr. Andrew Anderson.
In 1979 Mrs Gibbs was honored by Independent Colleges and Universities of Florida. She was one of seven supporters of higher education, including former Governor Reubin Askew, who were named "Champions of Higher Independent Education in Florida."
She passed away in Flagler Hospital.
