Edgar was a musician and at one time was a musician in a theatre and a salesman for a piano company.
At the time of his death, E.B. Lester was a retired civilian employee of the Atlanta General Depot, where he was a bookkeeper. He was a member of the Kirkwood Methodist church and Kirkwood Lodge No. 548, F & AM.
Edgar married Lucille Powers and they had several children: Edgar B. Jr., Clara, Mable, Nicholas, and Evelyn.
Funeral was held on Tuesday, Aug. 23, 1966, at 2 PM from Ward's Glenwood Chapel with the Rev. Tim Holbrook officiating and interment in Resthaven Cemetery.
