"A. H. Knoblauch Succumbs; Rites Are Held Saturday
Alfred Herman Knoblauch, 79, who formerly worked on many farms and ranches in the county, died in the Keidel Memorial Hospital and Clinic on Friday, Jan. 24, at 3:15 p.m.
Funeral services were held on Sunday, Jan. 26, at 3 p.m. in the Beckmann Funeral Home with the Rev. M. J. Schwarz officiating. A duett sang at the funeral home. Burial was in the City Cemetery.
Knoblauch was a native of Germany, where he was born on Jan. 15, 1879 in the province of Saxony, Germany, the son of Frederick Herman Knoblauch and Ida Ineugel.
He came to America with his parents and brothers and sisters at a young age. Enroute to America one of his brothers and a sister died and were buried at sea.
He was married to his surviving widow, Mrs. Lillie WAGNER Cauley on Jan. 11, 1927.
Surviving are his wife, and a stepson, Raymond Cauley, San Antonio.
In addition to the brother and sister who died in infancy he was preceded in death by a sister, Mrs. Lena Schelewa.
Pallbearers at the rites were Willie Heiner, Felix Hermann, Alots Ersch, Bennie Kunz, Edwin Siggel and Harry Reichenau."
