He died Monday, Aug. 11, 1986, at Davis Nursing Home in Tahlequah.
He was born April 29, 1908 in Manitou, Okla., son of John Lester and Malinda (Manis) Adams.
Adams taught one year of elementary school in Tillman County and then became a postal clerk in Frederick. He married Gladys Fay Bennett Aug. 1934, who died Nov. 4,1970.
In 1947 he and his wife purchased a farm northeast of Stillwater, where he raised Milking Shorthorn cattle. All three of their children grew up on the farm and attended Oklahoma State University.
He married Dessie L. Rockett Oct. 16, 1971 in Oklahoma City and moved to Stillwater to the present home.
In 1985 he suffered several strokes and had been confined in a convalescent home in Tahlequah.
Adams was baptized at age 13 and served for many years as a deacon and adult Sunday school teacher. He was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church.
He is predeceased by his first wife and two brothers.
His present wife survives, along with two sons, Dr. Lowell S. Adams, Ogden, Utah; Norman B. Adams, St. Louis, Mo.; one daughter, Mrs. Tom (Brenda) Tate, Tahlequah; one stepson, George Rockett, Memphis, Tenn.; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and one sister, Mrs. Harvey (Elsa) Puckett, Newcastle, Calif.
