She was born February 14, 1927 in Berrien County to the late Frank E. Luke and the late Della O'Neal. She was a homemaker, retired cafeteria manager at the Alapaha School, worked as nurses aide for years at Berrien County Hospital and was a member of St. Luke Missionary Baptist Church. She was the widow of Lawton McMillan who died in 2005. She was also preceded in death by a son: Quincy McMillan who died in 2016 and a sister: Naomi Morgan.
She is survived by 2 daughters: Shirley (Walt) Durden of Alapaha and Sandra Parrish of Alapaha; 4 sons: Danny (Dianne) McMillan of Alapaha, Bill McMillan of West Berrien, Perry (MaryAnn) McMillan of Ocala, FL and James (Jana) McMillan of Lake Park; brother: George Collins Luke of Gainesville, FL; 16 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Tuesday July 24, 2018 at 11 AM in St Luke Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Jamie McMillan, Rev. Michael Bennett and Rev. Garvie Nichols, Jr. officiating. Interment was in the St. Luke Cemetery. Lovein Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
