Mrs. Evelyn Stepp Blanton, 79, of 710 9th Street, Gaffney, SC, passed away on Saturday, June 19, 2010, at the Upstate Carolina Medical Center in Gaffney.
Mrs. Blanton was born in Gaffney, SC, the wife of the late Charles I. Blanton, and the daughter of the late Lillian DeStaffino Stepp Bright.
She was a housewife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and was of the Baptist faith.
She is survived by a daughter, Anne Martin and husband Tommy of Gaffney; three sons, Philip Blanton and wife Kim of Duncan, SC, Butch Blanton and wife Becky, and Tim Blanton and wife Dora, both of Gaffney; one brother, Tommy "Squeaky" Stepp of Gaffney; eight grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, June 22, 2010, at 10:00 AM at Frederick Memorial Gardens, 986 Chesnee Highway, Gaffney, SC, conducted by the Rev. Roger Hamm.
The family has entrusted the care of Mrs. Blanton to the Shuford-Hatcher Funeral Home in Gaffney.
