Concerning Edward's death: It is believed Edward went back to Mills County, Iowa, to look into some money issues involving some land that he had owned there before he left Iowa. While in Mills County, Iowa he died and is buried there. He left Esther with nine children and a large farm to run. After Edward's death Esther continued to buy more land, enlarging the size of the farm.
