Died of consumption March 31, 1895. Sister Fannie Coffman Painter, wife of Peter Painter, aged 51 year, 9 months and 10 days.
Sister Painter enjoyed reasonably good health until a few months prior in her death, when the dreadful disease consumption seened to fasten it's death grip upon her. She was not confined in her bed until within a short time before her death.
Sister Painter accepted the truth under the labors of Elders E. B. Lane and J. O. Corliss, in 1878, united with the Marksville church, remained a consistent member until her death and was always kind and open hearted in the poor and needy.
She leaves a husband, nine children and a host of friends to mourn her loss. Sister Painter was beloved by all her friends and neighbors and will be missed in the church and community.
Words of comfort were spoken by the writer and Elder Dalton, from her selection of Scripture, the 23 Psalm to a large and sympathetic congregation.
