MR. JOE CLARKE DEAD - Sunday night, January 7th, Mr. Joseph B. Clarke died at his farm home near Norwood Springs. The immediate cause of his death was acute indigestion. The burial was in the cemetery at Marshallville Monday afternoon, January 8th.

He was a son of the late Rev. George B. Clarke, and was 66 years of age. In his youth he attended school in Perry several years, while his father was pastor of the Methodist church here. He was a faithful Methodist, and his life was in accord with his Christian professions. The greater portion of his life has been devoted to farming in Houston county, much of the time on the farm where he died. His wife is a daughter of the late Mr. David H. Houser, of Houston county.

Mr. Joe Clarke was highly esteemed by all who know him, because he was just and true. The HOME JOURNAL senior editor knew him as a school boy and man, and joins his many friends in extending to the bereaved family the condolence of true friendship. The sons are Henry, Claude, Cooper Andrew and Clift. The daughters, Mrs. S. C. Monk, Misses Josie and Edna Clark.
