Pearl May Bivens Hyatt was born to Roney I. Bivens and Menerva Horton Hyatt on June 6, 1889, northwest of Exeter in Fillmore county, Nebraska. She died on May 8, 1981 at Fillmore County Hospital in Geneva, Nebraska at the age of 91 years, 11 months and 2 days. She was one of 5 children in her family.

Pearl attended District 78 school.

On September 8, 1915, she was united in marriage to Edgar Hyatt of Kimball, Neb. Pearl spent most of her live in Fillmore county. She was employed by various families as a housekeeper until her retirement when she moved into Fairview Manor.

She was a member of the North Side Club, an honorary member of United Methodist Women, and the Fairmont Community Church.

Pearl was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and brothers, Artie L., Roanoke I., and Marion E. Bivens. She is survived by one sister, Ruby Keil of Exeter, Neb.; two sisters-in-law, Mabel Bivens and Ann Bivens; nieces and nephews.

Services were held May 12, 1981 at the Fairmont Community church with Rev. Jay Vetter officiating. Organist was Mrs. Marvin Swartz, vocalists were Mr. and Mrs. Federal Bridgman. Pallbearers were Everett Chapman, Raymond Hall, Ralph Keil, Francis Schepers, Francis Rose, Kenneth Kness. Interment in the Fairmont Cemetery.
