Cecil Chivers was the last of nine children born to John Thomas and Caroline Hunting Chivers. He married Zena Kathrine Alexander on March 12, 1929, of which two children were born, one, a son, Kenneth. On March 15, 1937, he married Angela Zagaer in Duchesne, Utah. At the time of his death he was survived by his widow and son, Robert C. Chivers. He is buried in Vernal Memorial Park, Vernal, Utah.
