IUKA - Funeral services for Stella Gurley, 99, were held at 3 p.m. Monday at Iuka Baptist Church with the Rev. Harris Counce and the Rev. Jim Manley officiating. Burial was in Memorial Gardens. Cutshall Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Gurley died Saturday, Sept. 13, 1997, at Tishomingo Living Center. Stella Neomi Crawford Gurley was born March 23, 1898 in Pleasant Site, Ala., to William Andrew and Mary Elizabeth Patterson Crawford. She was a homemaker and a LPN at Cosby Clinic and Tishomingo County Hospital from 1950 until she retired in 1961. She was a member of Iuka Baptist Church where she taught the TEL Sunday School Class for many years.

Survivors include three daughters and three sons-in-law, Evelyn and Basil Wheeler, Bonnie and Herman Bullard and Betty and Dan Young; two sons and two daughters-in-law, Loren and Jan Gurley and Billy and Ruby Gurley, all of Iuka; three sisters, Esther Crabb of Tishomingo, Carlyn Williams and Etta Hester, both of Iuka; one brother, Lee Crawford of Corinth; 16 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Gurley's grandsons served as pallbearers.

She was preceded in death by one son, Aubrey Laverne Gurley and six brothers.
