JOSEPH CHAD ANDERSON
July 1, 1844-August 16, 1886
He served in the Civil War with General Dibrell's 13th (8th) Cavalry in Co. A. During the battle of Parker's Crossroads in West Tennessee, his horse and several others were killed by the Yankees and records have been located that indicate the Confederate Government reimbursed him $185 for the horse and $20 for equipment for a total of $205. I feel that it can be assumed that he obtained another horse and continued with the 8th Cavalry. When they left this battlefield, they were directed to go to the war front in East Tennessee, but stopped over in White Co. to recruit more troops and probably obtain replacement horses.
