Punta Gorda, Fla. - Leona B. Heywood, 85, died March 27 in a Port Charlotte nursing home.


A native of Norfolk, she made her home in Gloucester County from 1953 to 1984. She was a member of Providence Baptist Church, Ordinary, the York River Circle of King's Daughters and the Abingdon Woman's Club.


Survivors include a daughter, Mary Frances Wilkinson of Punta Gorda; two grandchildren, Linda Wilkinson of Tampa and Robert Wilkinson of Dallas, Texas, and a great-grandchild.


A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in the Providence Baptist Church Cemetery by Dr. Thomas Gaskins.


The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to a favorite charity.


Hogg Funeral Home, Gloucester Point, is in charge.
