Rosa Blanche Walker Ambrose, age 89, went home to be with the Lord Nov. 11, 2004.
Rosa was postmaster at Wicomico Post Office, retiring as rural route carrier for Hayes. She was a lifelong member of Providence Baptist Church, the Ruth Sunday School Class, Sunday school director for the Junior Department and a member of the Order of Eastern Star, Mildred Warner Chapter No 129, Gloucester.
Survivors include her husband of 69 years, William Woodrow Ambrose; one daughter, Teresa Hogge and husband, Edwin; three sons, Donald Ambrose and wife, Margie, Fred Lee Ambrose and wife, Barbara Jean, Billy Ambrose and wife, Dianne; 13 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services conducted by the Rev. Ray Goude, the Rev. William J. Corey and the Rev. Timothy B. Kirby, will be held 11 a.m. Saturday at Providence Baptist Church. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at Hogg Funeral Home from 7 until 8:30 p.m. Friday.
