Pat is the son of Margaret Louise Hosking, born 23 December 1912, in Bandon, Coos, Oregon and died 17 October 1994 in Portland, Multnomah, Oregon; and Benjamin Frazier Perkins, born in 1912 in Oregon and died 22 April 1966 in Marion county, Oregon.

He is the brother of Neil Frazier Perkins Cawood.

He married Dianne Zarn on 5 May 1961 in Vancouver, Clark, Washington; Susan Alene Smith, 1 December 1982 in Clark county, Nevada; and Mariann Stark in March 2003 in California.

His daughters are Sarah Hijgaard, Alene Mae, and Margaret Louise Cawood.

A memorial will be held for Patrick Bruce Cawood, 71, of Myrtle Point at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 17, at Amling/Schroeder Funeral Service in Myrtle Point.

Patrick was born Dec. 31, 1938, in North Bend, to Benjamin F. Perkins and Margaret Louise Hasking Perkins. He died June 11, 2010, in Coos Bay.

He moved to Portland, where he attended grade school at Arleta and graduated from Franklin High School. He graduated from Portland State in 1962 with a bachelor's degree in mathematics. He was a professional hydrologist, computer programmer and forklift driver. He also was a carpenter, master gardener, ship builder, pacifist, jack hammer operator, thinker, fisherman, but most importantly, a compassionate and loving husband to Marianne "Annie," devoted father to Sarah, Allie and Maggie and brother to Neil.

Over the years he lived in San Francisco, Calif., Washington, D.C., Copenhagen, Denmark, Auburn, Calif., and most recently Myrtle Point.

He will be dearly missed by his many friends, his loyal dog, China and all who loved him so much and who he touched with his compassion, wit and knowledge.
