Nathan worked most his life at the Court house in Tuscola. He was head janitor, Deputy Sheriff, Justice of the Peace and Police magistrate. His first wife Helen and him had two children, both boys, Nathan Loraine and Amos Earl. He later married Delpha J. Martin, 1898 - 1972 who he is buried next to in Grandview Memorial Gardens cemetery in Champaign County, Illinois
