Irene M. Burghart, Offerle, 92, died Sunday, June 3, 2007, at MedicaLodge, Kinsley. She was born May 10, 1915, in Victoria to Joseph and Margaret Kuhn Schriner.
She married Edward E. Burghart on Oct. 8, 1935, in Hays. He preceded her in death Jan. 2, 1989. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include nine sons, Tony Burghart, Austin, Texas, Ken Burghart, South Lake, Texas, Maurice Burghart, Boulder, Colo., Elmer Burghart, Greeley, Colo., Bernie Burghart, Salina, Dennis Burghart and Vern Burghart, both of Dodge City, Vince Burghart and Tim Burghart, both of Offerle; three daughters, Jeannette Lininger, Sterling, Colo., Theresa Tierney-Bothell, Washington, and Alicia Anderson, Joplin, Mo.; three brothers, Dan Schriner, Hays, Herb Schriner, Albuquerque, N.M., and Joe Schriner, Las Vegas; two daughters, Helen Schwarzenberger, Olathe, and Adeline Saia, Topeka; 32, grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Nobert Burghart, and two daughters, Susan and Anita. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Offerle; burial in New St. Joseph, Offerle. A vigil will be at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the church.
Memorials are suggested to St. Joseph Church in care of McKillip Memorial Funeral Home, Kinsley.
