Donald B. Bigler, 80, of Evansdale, died at his home Tuesday afternoon, June 15, 2010.He was born January 11, 1930 in Postville, the son of Louis and Amanda Jauert Bigler. He married Mary Fischer on January 1, 1948 in Clermont. They were later divorced. He then married Ethel Henry on July 20, 1974 in Waterloo. Don worked at the dock and powerhouse for Rath Packing Company for 33 years, retiring in 1983. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Rath Retirees, the National Trappers Association and a former member of the Eagle's.
He is survived by his wife; four sons, Ric (Marilyn) Bigler of Olympia, WA., Dan (Cheryl) Bigler and David (Barb) Bigler both of Evansdale and Ben (Jill) Bigler of Independence; three daughters, Leona Bigler of Evansdale, Joyce (Ron) Stohr of Lawrenceburg, KY and Sandi (Calvin) Horn of Elk Run Heights;
one sister, Sister Mary Lou Bigler of Dubuque; nineteen grandchildren and twenty great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one stepson, Raymond Henry; one brother, Louis Bigler; one sister, Leoma Bigler; and one granddaughter, Cody Henry.

Services will be 10:30 A.M. Friday, June 18, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 627 W. 4th St., with burial in the Garden of Memories Cemetery, Waterloo.
