"Hopkinton: Mrs. John (Lydia) McVay, 94, former Hopkinton resident, died at the Good Neighbor Home Monday evening where she had been residing the past three months.
Lydia Emeline, daughter of Courtland and Laura Thorp Chapman, was born Nov. 5, 1879. She was married Aug. 22, 1907 to John McVay who died in February of 1964. Mrs. McVay had resided the past several years with a daughter, Mrs. Fay (Alice) Loop of Masonville.
Mrs. McVay is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Loop and Mrs. Florence Britt of Ryan; one son, Albert of Hopkinton, ten grandchildren; twenty-five great-grandchildren and one brother, Courtland Chapman of Hopkinton.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, three sisters and four brothers.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday in the Goettsch funeral home with Rev. Lawrence Odegard officiating. Burial will be made in the Hopkinton cemetery."
