Marie Agnes Smith, 103, of Hanover, passed away peacefully with her family by her side June 16, 2010. She was the wife of Paul G. Smith, Sr., who died February 5, 1962.

Born August 22, 1906, in Hanover, she was the daughter of the late George A. and Sarah B. (Small) Becker.

Marie was retired with over 40 years of service from Middleburg Manufacturing Co.

She was a life long and the oldest living member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, Hanover, where she was a member the Rosary and Altar Societies. Marie was a life member of the Midway Fire Co. and held the title of being the first President of the Fire Co. Auxiliary.

Surviving are two sons, Paul G. Smith, Jr., and Thomas G. Smith and wife, Joyce, all of Hanover; three grandchildren, Thomas G. Smith, Jr., Andrew G. Smith and wife, Joan, and Joel B. Smith and wife, Angela; and two great-grandchildren, Ali Marie Smith and Derek Smith.

She was preceded in death by four sisters, Iva Colgan, Helena Trone, Ruth Zepp, and Agnes Noel; and four brothers, Albert, Pete, Raymond, and Ralph Becker.

Burial was in St. Vincent Cemetery, Hanover.
