"Indian Battles Beck was born on September 14, 1837, died May 11, 1912, 74 years, 7 months and 27 days. She was married four times, in each case being left to take care of herself and the children---there being six born; three children, six grandchildren, twenty-one great grandchildren and two brothers surviving her. She united with the General Baptist church in 1873. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. A. E. Wood and burial made at the Odd Fellows cemetery."

4/8/2024 - michellerenee68 added the following information: "Indiana was the biological daughter of Susanna Nance and Richard Harrison. Her father died and upon his mother's remarriage to Newitt Battles in 1842, she and her 2 brothers took the BATTLES last name."
