When World War I broke out he joined the United States Army on the 24 June 1918 and served in the 39 Spruce Squadron, ASAP.
He married Grace Davis on the 30 June 1923.
They were recent citizens of Harrington having become in 1947 a stockholder of the Grainbelt Manufacturing Company. That fall he brought his wife and their younger daughter here to reside
He had a severe heart attack on Friday night and died the following morning. His wife, Grace was in California having been called there several weeks ago by the illness and death of her father.
